[Ekodum] Team members wanted: European Straw Bale Gathering 2011 in C.R.

Dear all,

As most of you likely know, the next gathering of European Straw Bale 
Builders (ESBG) will be hosted by PermaLot in Bouzov Podoli this year. 
It is the most significant event for straw bale building in Europe, 
(possibly the world), and only happens every second year.

We can max. host 130 people, which means that initially we only accept 5 
from each country, until we know which countries will not send enough 
representatives. This also mean that we can have to apologize and ask 
for your understanding that we are not able to accept as many 
Czech/Slovaks as who would like to come. (-Sorry, but last event in 
Belgium included 1/4 Belgians, which was not optimal for the feeling of 
the ESBG being a European event).

To help you all, we will arrange for a long day of straw bale 
conference, with the newest straw bale knowledge/research to be 
presented for everyone; It will be on Friday the 26/8th. We also hope to 
arrange PermaLot's 4th National Celebration of Natural Building as a big 
eko-jarmark with workshops on Saturday the 27/8th. We are arranging a 
national Open House of Straw Bale homes on Sunday the 28/8. (If you are 
owner/architect of a legal residential SB house and we haven't contacted 
you yet, then please contact us for details; as we would like to include 
all SB houses in CZ.)

Should some of you be interested in committing a considerable amount of 
time/skill on making the ESBG a reality, then we now have openings on 
the team for persons taking charge of these issues:

1) Shower/toilet design: Someone taking responsibility of making a low 
price design for X amount of shower shelters (Water from well and heated 
from existing solar/wood furnace heating) and toilet shelters 
(Technique; separating seat on bucket in OSB box) of Y materials prior 
to the ESBG. We need budget ASAP.
2) Rental person: Find companies and prices for things such as tents, 
tables, chairs, cutlery, headsets for translation during Friday and get 
budgets which we need to find the ticket price.
3) National communicator: Someone who disseminate ESBG information to 
Czechs, through ekodum and postav-si-sam lists etc. + Contact key people 
directly. + Someone doing what I'm doing now: co-ordination of team, 
preferably in an encouraging, positive, inclusive spirit!?(...Obviously 
we need this person, as this mail should have been written in Czech 
language!)
4) On-line Registration: Who wants to deal with communicating with 
people in this regards, after they fill out the automatic registration? 
(special requests, payment + set up system for identification during 
ESBG; name tags, bracelets, stamp?)
6) Program makers: Solicit presenters, communicate their needs, make 
program.
7) Eko-Jarmark: If this is going to happen someone needs to 'adopt' it, 
much like how Jan Fronek adopted the open house.
8) P/A system: Simple microphone and loudspeaker initially; more for the 
Friday conference and Eko-Jarmark.

12) Logo/Graphic: James/Tomas/Franta Z
13) Promotion in Cz: Tom
14) International communication: Fano
15) Open Door: Jan F.
16) Preparation of physical infrastructure: Max, Lea, Honza (Team 
members needed!)
17) Accounting: Radka


Should you be interested in joining then please write a little about 
yourself (in Czech), your experience in SB building, and in the chore 
you offer to ESBGteam AT gmail.com . Ideally you will be able to join us 
for our planning meeting on:
Saturday 22nd of January, Bouzov Podoli 3 (Rarasci SB cottage), Starting 
with lunch at 12:00, results reached at 18:00, followed by a cosy Glogg 
evening for those who stay, and hopefully a talk with local town hall 
member during Sunday for some of us.
