I can recommend the Futon's from futon centre. I have known Steve 
Milgrom the past 10 years and he has many satisfied customers, including 
us: Our daughter was born (and conceived) on a futon, and judging from 
her health it's a great mattress!
Yes, it will get worn down with time, however so does every mattress. 
The trick is to be good at rolling it up, as well as turning it every 
month or so.
I would personally advice against the ones with latex, as latex is a 
closed cell which can not breath. As there's a great deal of moisture 
released in every bed, it's important the moisture can 'travel'.
By the way: I was once trained to be a manager of 'Jysk', a Danish bed 
retail franchise chain, and have been trained in the construction of 
mattresses!
